"MILLI"

Stuff you’ll need:
Standard sewing supplies
Scraps of fabric for: legs, body, head, arms & wings
stuffing
pin back
scrap of yarn or hair
black fabric marker
purple air erasable marker
hemostats
turning tool
stuffing fork
matching acrylic paint for toe (optional)
acrylic sealer
Berol colored pencils

Begin by making a template of the pattern pieces. This can be done by using old post cards, manila folders or taking the pattern to your local copy center and having it copied onto card stock.

ALL TRACE LINES ARE ALSO THE SEWING LINES!!

Body:
Lay out the fabrics you picked for the legs, dress and skin color. Using the body template to determine how much of each fabric you’ll need. Sew the three pieces of fabric together as indicated in the photo above.

With the RST and both sides of the fabric lined up, trace the body pattern using an air erasable marker. Sew, cut leaving a 1/8" seam allowance, clip in the curves and corners. Carefully turn using a turning tool for the hands and the legs, with the hemostats pull out the remainder of the body.

Stuff carefully using your stuffing fork. Close opening using a ladder stitch.

Head:
Trace head on desired skin fabric, sew, cut out using a1/8" seam allowance. Make a small slit at the back of the head, stuff lightly and close using a slip stitch.

Wings:
Trace wings on desired fabric. Sew, cut out leaving a 1/8" seam allowance. Carefully turn, stuff lightly. Give the wings some definition by sewing two vertical lines on each wing.

Putting "Milli" together (see drawing below)
1. ~ Attach wings
2.~ Attach head
3. ~ Glue or sew a bit of hair on top of her head
4. ~ Give "Milli" a face using your black fabric marker for the outlines and your Berol colored pencils for the eye color, cheeks and lips.

Last paint the tips of the toes using a coordinating color of acrylic paint. Seal with two coats of acrylic sealer. Attach pin back by either glueing or sewing it into place.  Enjoy!!
